Service catalog

Five services.
One engineered chain.

Each service stands alone, but they're designed to chain together: the inventory feeds the roadmap, the roadmap feeds the energy study, and the annual contract keeps all three current. No accreditation is required for anything on this list.

SERVICE 01/ ONE-OFF, THEN ANNUAL

Carbon Footprint Assessment

A full greenhouse gas inventory for one financial year, expressed in tCO2e, broken down by scope, source, and site or process line.

Deliverable

Executive Carbon Intelligence Report — total footprint, scope breakdown chart, year-on-year trend for repeat clients, and a short “what this means” narrative. Not just a spreadsheet.

What it is not

A legally assured or verified statement. We label it clearly as self-assessed — accurate, and sufficient for around 95% of SME use cases including voluntary and supply-chain reporting.

Exactly how we do it

  1. 01
    Data request & site walk

Utility bills (gas, electricity, water), fuel receipts, refrigerant top-up records, fleet mileage and, for larger accounts, production volumes.

  2. 02
    Boundary setting

Define the organisational boundary (typically operational control) and reporting year, following the GHG Protocol Corporate Accounting Standard.

  3. 03
    Scope 1 calculation

Combustion (boilers, ovens, forklifts, company vehicles), fugitive emissions (refrigerant leakage) and process emissions where applicable, using UK Government (DEFRA/DESNZ) conversion factors.

  4. 04
    Scope 2 calculation

Purchased electricity and heat, calculated both location-based (grid average) and market-based (supplier-specific, if you hold a green tariff) per the GHG Protocol Scope 2 Guidance.

  5. 05
    Scope 3 screening

A materiality screen across all 15 categories, then detailed calculation of the 3–4 that actually matter for you — typically purchased goods & services, upstream transport and waste. Almost nobody does this properly for SMEs, and it's usually where the biggest number lives.

  6. 06
    Quality-check & sense-check

Cross-referenced against energy spend, sector benchmarks and prior-year data where available.

The value to you

  • Answers the question your biggest customer's procurement questionnaire is now asking.
  • A defensible number for a tender response, CDP disclosure or EcoVadis submission.
  • Surfaces the Scope 3 hotspot most SMEs don't know they have — often 5–10× Scope 1 + 2 combined.
  • A fraction of the cost of a Big 4 or accredited verifier for the same underlying inventory.
SERVICE 02/ ONE-OFF

Decarbonisation Roadmap

A costed, sequenced plan for reducing the footprint identified in your assessment, scenario-modelled over 3–5 years.

Deliverable

Roadmap document with the MACC chart, a year-by-year action plan, and a one-page board summary you can use to get capex approved.

Exactly how we do it

  1. 01
    Abatement identification

Walk the site (or review process data) against each emissions source and identify credible reduction levers: fuel switching, heat recovery, insulation, compressed air, motor/VFD upgrades, LED retrofits, EV fleet transition, on-site solar, supplier switching.

  2. 02
    Marginal Abatement Cost Curve (MACC)

Rank every lever by £ per tCO2e abated and by simple payback period — not just by tonnes saved. The single most useful engineering artefact in the engagement: it tells you what to do first.

  3. 03
    Scenario modelling

Two or three pathways — e.g. “no-cost measures only”, “moderate capex”, “net zero by 2035” — so you can choose against your actual capital cycle, not an aspirational one.

  4. 04
    Funding overlay

Flag which measures are eligible for UK grants (Industrial Energy Transformation Fund, local Net Zero Hub grants, enhanced capital allowances). This materially improves the payback maths and most SMEs never check it.

The value to you

  • Turns “we should probably do something about emissions” into a prioritised, budgeted plan a finance director will approve.
  • No-cost and low-cost measures usually pay for the entire engagement in year one.
  • Puts you ahead of customers and lenders who are starting to ask “what's your plan”, not just “what's your number”.

Energy Optimisation Study

A technical review of energy use across the site, targeting the classic industrial waste points, with recommendations ranked by return.

Deliverable

Energy Optimisation Report, feeding directly into the Decarbonisation Roadmap's MACC.

Important boundary

This is a general energy review, not a statutory ESOS compliance audit, which legally requires a registered Lead Assessor. We deliver the same engineering value without that regulated label, and refer clients who specifically need ESOS compliance to a Lead Assessor.

Exactly how we do it

  1. 01
    Utility & meter review

12–24 months of half-hourly or monthly consumption data, degree-day normalised where relevant.

  2. 02
    Walk-round audit

Compressed air system (leak survey — typically 20–30% of generated air is lost to leaks), motor and drive inventory, heat recovery from ovens, compressors and refrigeration, building fabric and insulation, lighting.

  3. 03
    Benchmarking

Energy intensity (kWh per unit output, or per m²) compared against Carbon Trust and DESNZ industrial benchmarks, so you see exactly where you sit versus peers.

  4. 04
    Quantify and rank

Each recommendation costed with expected annual saving (£ and kWh), payback period and implementation complexity.

The value to you

  • Compressed air, heat recovery and motor upgrades are consistently the highest-ROI industrial efficiency measures — often under two-year payback.
  • Directly reduces energy cost, which lands on the P&L immediately — a far easier internal sell than “sustainability” framing.
SERVICE 04/ ANNUAL

ESG Reporting & Supply-Chain Support

Help producing whatever your customers, lenders or regulators are actually asking for — questionnaires, disclosures and narrative reports.

Deliverable

Completed questionnaire or submission, plus a short internal reference document so you can self-serve next year's version with less help.

Exactly how we do it

  1. 01
    Requirement mapping

Identify exactly which framework is being requested: SECR-style narrative, CDP Supply Chain questionnaire, EcoVadis scorecard, a specific customer's supplier sustainability form, or a bank's ESG lending questionnaire.

  2. 02
    Drafting

Using your footprint and roadmap data, we draft the actual submission in your voice. Most SMEs have the facts but no one internally with time to write it up properly.

  3. 03
    Gap-closing

Flag any question you can't currently answer well and turn it into a fast, targeted piece of work — a supplier engagement letter, a waste data pull — rather than a vague weakness.

The value to you

  • Removes the single biggest blocker to landing or keeping contracts with larger customers: an unanswered or badly-answered sustainability questionnaire.
  • Converts a compliance chore into a competitive differentiator versus SME suppliers who ignore the ask.
SERVICE 05/ ANNUAL

Ongoing Carbon Intelligence

The assessment, roadmap and reporting support above, refreshed annually, plus running progress tracking in between.

Deliverable

A live, evolving carbon intelligence file rather than a one-off report gathering dust — and the natural on-ramp to the Helvetra platform once it launches.

Exactly how we do it

  1. 01
    Annual re-assessment

Repeat the Scope 1/2/3 inventory each year on the same methodology so numbers are genuinely comparable — a common failure point when SMEs switch providers or methodology.

  2. 02
    Progress tracking against the roadmap

Check which MACC measures were implemented, quantify actual versus modelled savings, and re-prioritise the remaining list.

  3. 03
    Light-touch quarterly check-ins

Short calls to catch data or operational changes early — new equipment, closed sites, changed suppliers — so the year-end number isn't a surprise.

The value to you

  • Turns a one-off audit into a genuine management function, without hiring an in-house sustainability person.
  • Keeps you audit-ready every year for customer questionnaires, tenders and, eventually, mandatory reporting as thresholds tighten.

What we deliberately don't sell yet.

These stay off the list until the right credential is in place. Offering them without it is where liability actually lives — not in the analytical work itself.
